We help you understand where your stuff comes from, where it goes, and why its misbehaving.

Life Cycle Assessment (AKA: Following Your Product Around Like a Detective With a Clipboard)

Understanding the full life cycle impacts of any product, project or system is possible. LCA can be applied for efficiency improvements, decarbonisation, investor and ESG communications. Throw in some Life Cycle Costing for good measure.

Circular economy (Because landfills aren't getting an sexier)

The circular economy is about keeping materials in circulation for longer. Moving beyond recycling, to the "inner-loops" of reuse, refurbishment and remanufacturing.

Industrial symbiosis: Factories sharing Resources Like Neighbours Sharing Sugar, But Less Awkward

Resource connections between companies increases efficiencies and reduces impacts. One company's (or entity) waste or output, becomes another's input.

Design, Research and Development

Optimising, assessing and comparing alternatives - products, processes, logistics or other systems.

We specialise in turning complex sustainability problems into solutions your board can understand before their coffee gets cold.

Reducing complexity

There is no - one size fits all - so many of our solutions are bespoke. Our extensive knowledge and toolbox means assessing any system is possible. Environmental, economic and social assessments - together or separate.

Extensive toolbox

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the leading tool for environmental analysis, and can compare up to 16 different impact categories such as climate change, acidification potential and eutrophication.

Life Cycle Costing is hugely beneficial used alongside LCA to compare costs and environmental impacts. This can help understand the trade-offs between different alternatives or scenarios.

Sustainability assessment can be applied quantitatively or qualitatively. It is useful where precise quantities are not possible. Indicators can be tailored to the individual system and selected through a collaborative and iterative process.

Life Cycle Assessment

  • Early stage or simplified LCA - a quicker alternative, or for design analysis, offering comprehensive overview based on limited data
  • ISO 14040/44 compliant LCA - using the latest techniques for robust analysis.
  • Verified LCA - A verified LCA can be critical in demonstrating to investors and customers the entity's crudentials

Understanding a product, service, project or process impact and how they compare to competitors is key.

Circular economy

Solutions for business and governments. This includes: assessments (how circular is my product or city), strategic services (frameworks and roadmaps), to helping develop and support business models:  1) Designing out waste, and using recycling input; 2) Design for recycling, 3) Durability 4) Product as a service, leasing or renting; 5) Sharing

Industrial Symbiosis and urban development

We help industry and governments prepare or manage industrial and urban symbiosis. From an industry perspective - what are the opportunities for synergies involving materials, energy or water; and what are the environmental consequences?

From a government perspective: 1) How can industrial symbiosis be planned on a greenfield site? or 2) How to find and encourage symbiosis on existing sites?

Design, Research and Development & Scenario Modelling

Comparing alternatives of products, manufacturing, project location, energy sources is critical to selecting the optimum solution. This can be based on considering trade-offs between environmental impacts, costs and social aspects.
